Troubleshooting & Aftercare:

Once you've gotten a permanent tattoo, the hardest part is over, but your work isn't done. Pay careful attention to help the healing process and protect the newly acquired tattoo's color and shape. It's just as important to take good care of the tattooed area as it is to treat any other skin wound. Keep the bandage on the tattoo for at least 15 mins after the work is complete (possibly longer, depending on the tattoo artist's instructions).

  • Remove the bandage very carefully and leave it off. This allows your skin to breathe and begin the healing process.
  • Wash tattoo with your hand (make sure hand is clean) using warm, soapy water. Rinse with cold water. Don't over soak your tattoo. Keep out of the direct spray of the shower. Pat dry, DO NOT rub with towel.
  • Use mild soap (Dettol/Savlon) to lightly rinse the tattoo. Lightly pat it dry with a washcloth, taking care not to rub it.
  • Dab an over-the-counter mild antibiotic cream on the cleaned area. (not too much, just a light film).
  • Continue to lightly apply antibiotic cream to your tattooed skin for about a week, then switch to plain skin lotion to keep it moist throughout the day.
  • Expose your healing skin to air as much as possible without soaking in the sun.
  • Tattoo will flake. DO NOT pick at the flakes or you may pull the color out. Try not to let clothing rub on your tattoo while it is healing.
  • Avoid getting a lot of water on your new tattoo - showers are OK, but no swimming for a few weeks.

Tips: Resist scratching the skin or picking at scabs, no matter how much it itches. Wear clean, loose and comfortable clothing over the tattooed area. Your skin should heal in about two weeks. Apply sunblock to your tattoo after it has healed, to help prevent burns and fading.

    Procedure:

Artists create tattoos by injecting ink into a person's skin. To do this, they use an electrically powered tattoo machine that resembles (and sounds like) a dental drill. The machine moves a solid needle up and down to puncture the skin between 50 and 3,000 times per minute. The needle penetrates the skin by about a millimeter and deposits a drop of insoluble ink into the skin with each puncture

    Does it Hurt?

This is an extremely popular question. In a professional environment it is annoying, and it does sting a bit. The more relaxed you are the easier the process, and within a few minutes your body will release endorphins (which are natural pain killers) that ease your discomfort. The experience is different for everyone and everyone’s definition of the discomfort will be different; it is impossible to say exactly how it will feel for you. Generally, everyone does just fine. Some spots do hurt worse than others. A few general rules do apply such as: the more muscular areas (upper arm or calf) will hurt less than the bonier areas (elbow or ribs). Sensitive parts of your body will sting a bit more to get tattooed, “If you are ticklish there, it’s probably going to hurt a bit.” It really is best to get tattooed where you want it, based on your aesthetics. The placement of the tattoo is solely up to you, because the tattoo will be there long after the pain fades. If it were that painful, people wouldn't keep coming back for a second, and third, and fourth, and, on and on…….

    Do you accept walk-in's?

Yes! We will gladly let you know, if we have any openings for the day. Or you can call and make a free consultation appointment. This way you are guaranteed to talk to us, and have us answer any questions you have, get an estimate, and make arrangements for getting your tattoo.

    How much does it cost?

We have competitive rates. In order for us to give you a time/estimate, we must see in person, the design and area of the body to be tattooed. We can not give out tattoo estimates over the phone. We accept cash and Plastic..

Can I bring my own design?

Yes, we like it when you have reference materials. It gives us a better understanding of what you would like. But please keep in mind, that some drawings/designs, are not made to be a tattoo. Sometimes our clients request us to tattoo images that look nice on paper, but would not be possible to tattoo, or would not age well. We may have to redraw it in order to remedy any of these issues if it is at all possible to be tattooed.

How should I prepare for a tattoo?

Be rested, and have something to eat within 4 hours, prior to getting tattooed. Do not drink alcohol or take any illegal drugs. Alcohol and Disprine / Crocin are blood thinners, and can cause excessive bleeding. We will refuse to tattoo you if you are intoxicated.

    Do you tattoo minors?

do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18.

How do I take care of my tattoo?

We will give you detailed instructions to take home with you.

Do you tattoo pregnant or breast-feeding women?

No, because there have not been sufficient study of how the tattooing process affects an unborn child.

Do you use sterile equipment and needles?

All our grips, needles and tips are disposable and we use an autoclave sterilizer for the other equipment such as machine frames, etc. We will even give you the needles after we tattoo you as a show of good faith.
